unwanted pregnancy
std’s
emotional stability of having only 1 sex partner
and most importantly……to please my Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ References :
It’s religious and insecurity, they think if they are the only ones they had sex with there will be no compare or knowledge of better and so no incentive to be unfaithful. SCREW THAT bone till it falls of girl just kidding…but not really…. References :
I lived quite a wild life for about 3 years. After much heart ache and personal difficulties/drama I decided to abstain from sex until marriage. I chose this to simplify my life. I met my husband about a year after I became celibate He was waiting for marriage for religious reasons. Honestly, once we got engaged I DESPERATELY wanted to have sex with him but he insisted that we wait. I respected his choice to wait. (a few private grumblings but I did respect his choice)
Would I advise people to wait for marriage? No. I do advise people to wait to have sex until they are in love and in a long term and committed relationship. Sex just to have sex with some guy that you barely know is VERY overrated and not nearly as much fun as people/media make it out to be. Sex with someone you love is FANTASTIC. (physically and emotionally) References :
1. Religion. I am Christian and was taught that sex is a gift from God to be enjoyed only by husband and wife. There are Bible verses that specifically say sex is only for marriage.
2. Personal. Even if I wasn’t a Christian I would still wait. I just think its selfish to have sex before marriage because you are only doing it for personal enjoyment. Even though you haven’t married someone yet, your future spouse is out there somewhere and its basically like you are cheating on her, if you have sex with another girl, even though you havent met her yet.
If you have sex with someone and breakup a year later, she wasn’t the ONE, so that proves she didn’t really love you. I would regret that decision on my wedding day.
You never hear people say on their wedding day that they regret not sleeping with past girfriends. Rather, they are so happy that they waited for their wife.
I would recommend NOT having sex in college. College isn’t like the old days where you meet your sweetheart anymore. It is just random, drunken hookups at frat parties. NOTHING romantic or special about that. References : 23 year old male virgin.
